07-Jul-2013 Wimble-done

You know how it is… the world seems to stop and focus on tennis for a couple of weeks – heck, we’ve even watched a match or two or three or four… and more. And the men’s singles final is still to come.

It’s purely coincidental that we’ve had a week where jiva didn’t venture out to play in public – we’re in a sort of ‘calm before the storm’ musically and we’re in the eye of the storm as far as work on our yard goes. You may have glanced at last week’s blog and found a transformation from bomb site to block paving. Stage 2 is now underway as a new wall starts to rise from the ashes of wrought iron fencing and gates. Hopefully this week should see completion of this part in the project with stage 3 (roller door installation) following not far behind.

Music hasn’t been completely off the radar – we’ve been networking and booking some future gigs… and we’re planning some focused rehearsal sessions in readiness for getting back to the more usual busy performance schedule that we’ll see in the rest of July, August, and the first half of September before we jet off to the sunnier climes of the west coast of America (yes, we will be visiting Taylor Guitars again!).

But for now Wimbledon beckons – bring on the strawberries, bring on the cream… we don’t have any champagne to hand, but a nice glass of cooled red wine will suffice. Aah, the delights of the English summer.
